Mokuei Stool
The Mokuei stool is a stool entirely sculpted from solid oak where the assumed brutalist reference blends with an almost unreal organic design.
Constructed using traditional cabinetmaking techniques, the Mokuei stool features a mortise and tenon joint and discreet doweling, ensuring exceptional durability. Each meticulously crafted component reveals a formal purity characteristic of minimalist design.
Its tabletop has a natural linseed oil finish complemented by a protective coating that ensures better resistance to wear, water, and heat. The underside of the tabletop is oiled and stained a "charcoal" color, extending onto the base and ending in a subtle gradient.
The climbing rope handle and jute thread deliberately break the austerity of the design, injecting a dose of textual provocation that tickles the conventions of minimalist furniture.
This unique piece breaks the mold by boldly blending poetry and functionality, resulting in a design that is as surprising as it is practical. Perfect for creating an interior that is both sophisticated and authentic, it will appeal to those who embrace an uncompromising "raw" style.
Piece belonging to the Mokuei (木映) collection. This poetic name suggests "wood reflecting light" or "the image of wood".

Nota bene:
All creations from the workshop are crafted entirely by hand from carefully selected raw materials.
They do not seek uniform perfection but on the contrary claim authenticity, singularity and the unique character of their undisguised irregularities, which have become aesthetic elements in their own right.
This non-industrialized approach reflects expert know-how where raw aesthetics become a fundamental element of design, offering a warm and authentic atmosphere that enriches any interior space.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
The workshop's creations do not require any special maintenance.
They are protected from humidity thanks to the careful application of finishing oil.
The oils, tinted or not, used by the workshop for finishing the wood are exclusively Rubio Monocoat oils.
These are single-coat wood oils that feature natural molecular bonding technology with wood fibers.
They are water-free, solvent-free, made from 100% natural ingredients and contain 0% VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
They offer ecological and durable wood protection.
Please note: Solid wood is a natural product that responds to changes in temperature and humidity by expanding and contracting. Variations in grain, color, and texture are inherent to this material and therefore potentially to be expected.
