Yagura “Bokei Mini” portable lamp Ø 15cm
Small portable lamp carved from solid oak (design with 3 interlocking modules).
The Yagura "Bokei Mini" represents a sophisticated conceptual exploration of the relationship between technology and materiality.
Designed with a diameter of 15cm, this portable lamp visually articulates the increasing permeability between the digital and physical worlds through a precise formal language: a series of manually punched zeros that simultaneously evoke binary code and traces of human intervention. Each perforation, executed by hand, creates a dialectical tension between the systematic order of data and the imperfection inherent in the handcrafted gesture.
The interplay of light that passes through these patterns reveals the layers of this duality, transforming the object into an instrument for reflection on the progressive colonization of our environments by digital logics.
Far beyond a simple light source, this piece functions as a critical artifact, intended for those who appreciate conceptual depth and technical mastery in contemporary design.
Piece belonging to the Yagura collection (櫓 or 矢倉), meaning "tower" in Japanese. Bokei (母型) refers to the matrix and by extension to the maternal matrix.

Nota bene:
All creations from the workshop are crafted entirely by hand from carefully selected raw materials.
They do not seek uniform perfection but on the contrary claim authenticity, singularity and the unique character of their undisguised irregularities, which have become aesthetic elements in their own right.
This non-industrialized approach reflects expert know-how where raw aesthetics become a fundamental element of design, offering a warm and authentic atmosphere that enriches any interior space.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
The workshop's creations do not require any special maintenance.
They are protected from humidity thanks to the careful application of finishing oil.
The oils, tinted or not, used by the workshop for finishing the wood are exclusively Rubio Monocoat oils.
These are single-coat wood oils that feature natural molecular bonding technology with wood fibers.
They are water-free, solvent-free, made from 100% natural ingredients and contain 0% VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
They offer ecological and durable wood protection.
Please note: Solid wood is a natural product that responds to changes in temperature and humidity by expanding and contracting. Variations in grain, color, and texture are inherent to this material and therefore potentially to be expected.
